<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-left:0cm;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><strong><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Garamond,serif">Abstract:</span></strong><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Garamond,serif"><br>
La lezione esplorerà gli esordi storici e i presupposti “scientifici” dello
studio universitario dell’Ebraismo e dell’Islam. Guy Stroumsa è stato tra i
primi studiosi ad introdurre l’idea di “obiettività scientifica” in questo
ambito, evidenziando come il Rinascimento e il Romanticismo abbiano contribuito
alla nascita di un nuovo paradigma, iniziando una rivoluzione intellettuale.
Questi movimenti hanno favorito un approccio storico ed etnologico, che si è
progressivamente emancipato dall’interesse esclusivamente teologico. Già tra il
XVI e il XVIII secolo, le università protestanti tedesche produssero
dissertazioni su Ebraismo e Islam, anticipando le istituzionalizzazioni
ottocentesche degli studi orientali. Queste ultime furono spesso motivate da
interessi diplomatici, missionari e coloniali. La prospettiva dominante,
esemplificata da Ernest Renan, attribuiva alla scienza il ruolo di garante
della presunta superiorità culturale europea. Pur segnati da una forte
componente ideologica, gli studi orientalisti hanno avuto un impatto profondo
sulla comprensione occidentale delle culture orientali. Ricerche più recenti,
come quelle condotte da Sabine Schmidtke, hanno mostrato come nel XIX secolo
questi percorsi abbiano assunto nuove configurazioni. Inoltre,
l’istituzionalizzazione delle scienze ebraiche nel secondo dopoguerra, in
seguito alla Shoah, ha determinato una trasformazione radicale del paradigma
della ricerca.</span></p>
