<div>Lecture by Eduardo Manzano Moreno on 12 November at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York - all welcome!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Eduardo Manzano Moreno (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) will talk on the conquest of Hispania in 711 as one of the last landmarks of the Arab expansion which followed the death of the Prophet. The aim of this seminar is to show how that conquest triggered processes of Arabization and Islamization, which also entailed dynamics of social change. By looking at written, numismatic and archaeological evidence it is possible to trace a coherent and precise picture of the short and long term consequences of the arrival of the Arab armies.</div>
