- CROSS POSTING TO MANY LISTS TO CAST A WIDE NET & YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS--

Dear Colleagues of all stripes, disciplines, domains, languages --

Last call for proposals for panels on any topic in any Iberian topic, crossing all the communities and languages of the Iberian Peninsula!

The Ibero-Medieval Association of North America, of which ALL who study Iberian topics are members, will meet this weekend and/or early next week to consider panel proposals to submit to the International Congress on Medieval Studies by 1 June 2021, for the congress in May 2022. While the Board does not submit the proposals, we do determine whether we will sponsor (and should we choose not to sponsor, the organizer is free to submit without our sponsorship, of course), and also make suggestions for improving the proposal.

We on the Board are very serious about representing ALL the areas of study in the Peninsula, not just Castilian literature, and are particularly interested in comparative panels, and work from all people and on all topics, particularly addressing/redressing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, whether in the substance of the field or a metadiscourse on the discipline. I personally also invite disruptive and dissident panels -- I cannot speak for the Board in that aspect, though I will make the case TO the Board for substantive proposals.

Moving our fields forward!

Linde
for the IMANA Board

Outline of ultimate criteria when submitting to the Congress, and each organizer submits each panel individually:
Required information includes the name, affiliation and contact information for a single contact person for each session, the format of the proposed session, the title of proposed session, and a description of the importance and/or timeliness of the proposed session (100 words). Optional fields include descriptions of encouraged methodology or discourse (100 words), plans for outreach (100 words), and a description for the Confex call for papers (100 words), as well as keywords and—in the case of sponsored sessions—the naming of co-sponsoring organization(s).
