Managing a Majordomo List
Becoming a list owner is not something you should do
lightly. A lot of work can be involved, especially if the list
is large. It is definitely not something to do unless you are
reasonably experienced with e-mail, lists, and usenet news, and
are prepared to spend some time learning to interpret error messages
that you will get because of problems with email addresses on
your list.
Likewise, you should feel confident that you can help less
experienced list members with problems involving the use of various
email programs as well as the nuts and bolts of sending to the
list. Before plunging in, read up on such things in several of
the many books on the Internet available from the Computing
Center Documents Room. We also recommend that you view the Majordomo
FAQ.
