Mailing Lists at the UO

Mailing lists allow a large number of people to easily share e-mail with one another. This process is managed by a mailing list management program. All e-mail messages are sent to this central program and then redistributed to the users on the list.

The UO Computing Center currently operates a majordomo list server. You can subscribe yourself to many of the majordomo lists, although in some cases a list may require owner approval for membership. You can also create and manage new lists (a responsibility not to be taken lightly) on our majordomo list server using your uoregon.edu address.
